On behalf of the Waynesboro Police Department, I would like to first thank you for inviting me

as the current Assistant Chief of Police to speak and participate at the United Hearts in the Park event in

Waynesboro, MS. Mrs. Henry, it is an honor to have been given the opportunity to learn more about

you and the passion you possess regarding Operation Recovery Inc. A unified community that is

equipped with individuals, who carry a common goal in making daily life safer for everyone, especially

the youth, is something I will always fight to keep. United Hearts in the Park embodies making

communities safer. It does this by challenging leaders and citizens to step outside their comfort zones

and connect with people that one may not typically connect with on an everyday basis. I observed a

diverse group of individuals attending, participating, and speaking with one another. The team events

consisting of tug-of-war and the “trust course” allowed me to depend on a stranger, which resulted in

me making friends with someone I had never met. This allowed me and other leaders in the community

to get-to-know the people we serve everyday in a more personable fashion. Additionally, I would like to

thank you Mrs. Henry for allowing pastors, judges, and other leaders the platform to share their views

and opinions with the public. While it is of upmost importance to listen to the opinions and statements

of the public, it is also just as important for the public to know the parameters in which leaders have to

operate legally. I believe this event allowed both leaders and citizens to become educated on several

things concerning the law and how it can best be used to serve the public.

Thank you again for allowing me to participate in United Hearts in the Park! I am eager to

continue working with you to make Waynesboro and Wayne County a safer place to live.

On April 30,2022, I attended the United Hearts day in the park. I enjoyed all the speakers that had positive input regarding violence. All the activities that took place during this day were examples of helping preventing the violence in our community. I think this program was beneficial for our community because of the positive things that were said to influence our youths.  Operation Recovery event “United Hearts in the Park” was a much needed event. It provide an opportunity for community leaders to come together, build relationships and create awareness in hopes of stopping gun violence. It was great to see community leaders such as aldermen, law enforcement, DA, pastors and community members network and work together toward  creating safer neighborhoods!

I had the pleasure of  traveling to Waynesboro, MS to attend an #NCVRW 2022 event, United Hearts in the Park, with Operation Recovery/Voices of Black Mothers United. This was a community event that had several elected officials, judges, a District Attorney, Assistant Police Chief and a representative from the Woodsen Center in Washington D.C. that spoke. This event was recorded for play in a future film documentary.  The combination of  physical fitness games being played by both adults and children was so much fun.  The physical fitness got the community together with each other and strangers.  I was paired with Assistant Chief of Police Chief Johnathan Platt and I feel that I made a friend for life.  The speakers for Mental Health and Wellness for victims had an array of wonderful information. The crowd was very interested and supportive of Marsy's Law.  Zanetia Henry was the organizer of this great event.

My 3 grandsons and I enjoyed our time  at the United Hearts in The Park, in Waynesboro, Ms. with Mrs. Henry. Everyone came together in playing games, speaking and honoring their love ones. Children and adults of different races played together and associated with each other excitedly.  People from Waynesboro, Ms. Police department and other departments joined the activities.  I know Mrs. Henry's heart is in what she is doing.  As a personal friend and associate, I can say that Mrs. Henry is always available to reach out to and  ready to help others. I pray for her heart to stay committed to her assignment that Jesus Christ has given her and I pray for her to become a National help to everyone across this United States Of America.
